The AES Somerset Power Station is a 675 megawatt coal-fired steam electric generating facility located on the shore of Lake Ontario in Barker. The power station has one generating unit that became operational in 1984.

AES Somerset uses a once-through cooling system that is responsible for entraining 141 million fish eggs and larvae each year and impinging another 12,000 adult and juvenile fish.

James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant

The James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant is an 825 megawatt nuclear-powered generating facility located on the shore of Lake Ontario in Lycoming, adjacent to the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Generating Station. The power station has one generating unit that became operational in 1975.

The FitzPatrick plant uses a once-through cooling system that is responsible for entraining 18 million fish eggs and larvae each year and impinging another 240,000 adult and juvenile fish.

The Ginna Nuclear Power Plant is a 496 megawatt nuclear-powered generating facility located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the town of Ontario. The power station has one generating unit that became operational in 1970.

The Ginna plant uses a once-through cooling system that is responsible for entraining 29 million fish eggs and larvae each year and impinging another 36,000 adult and juvenile fish.

Huntley Generating Station

The Huntley Generating Station is a 760 megawatt coal-fired steam electric generating facility located along the Niagara River in Tonawanda. The power station has two generating units that became operational in 1957 (Unit 67) and 1958 (Unit 68).

Huntley uses a once-through cooling system that is responsible for entraining 105 million fish eggs and larvae each year and impinging another 97 million adult and juvenile fish -- the largest number of fish impinged by any single power plant in New York.

The Nine Mile Point Nuclear Generating Station is a 1,757 megawatt nuclear-powered generating facility located on the shore of Lake Ontario in Lycoming, adjacent to the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant. The power station has two generating units that became operational in 1969 (Unit 1) and 1988 (Unit 2).

Unit 1 at Nine Mile Point uses a once-through cooling system that is responsible for entraining 87 million fish eggs and larvae each year and impinging another 1 million adult and juvenile fish.

The Oswego Steam Station is a 1,700 megawatt oil-fired steam electric generating facility located on the shore of Lake Ontario in Oswego. The power station has two generating units that became operational in 1976 (Unit 5) and 1980 (Unit 6).

The Oswego Steam Station uses a once-through cooling system that is responsible for entraining 13 million fish eggs and larvae each year and impinging another 1,200 adult and juvenile fish.

The Dunkirk Steam Station is a 600 megawatt coal-fired steam electric generating facility located on the shore of Lake Erie in Dunkirk. The power station has four generating units that became operational in 1950 (Units 1 and 2), 1959 (Unit 3) and 1960 (Unit 4).

Dunkirk Station uses a once-through cooling system that is responsible for entraining 48 million fish eggs and larvae each year and impinging another 63 million adult and juvenile fish.
