That ship has sailed ... now swim out to it.

The workin' stiffs among us can all relate to having a really bad boss at some point. The worst kind of boss there is: the moocher. The moocher is the boss that pans all your ideas. Then, behind your back, sells the very same ideas to the higher ups. Shockingly, the higher ups like your ... i mean ... the company's idea and credit your mooching boss.
This is how I feel when I read articles like this one.
Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.), the new chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, is pushing for a Renewable Portfolio Standard.
(Bingaman's plan, our favorite green Gov. Arnold might suggest, is for "girlie men". For a real RPS strategy read here. ).
By introducing an R.P.S., congress is recommending that renewable energy technology be a part of the global climate change solution.
Uh, like, really? Welcome to 2007 folks. Try to pay attention.
(I guess its not so surprising that congress is this behind in the times when it comes to the climate change. Until recently the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works was chaired by this noble muckraker, who single handedly uncovered the great hoax of climate change.)
We at NNEC are, of course, elated that energy issues are all the craze ... leaving us to say: we told you so. (We are a childish bunch).
Well, who cares who said what and when. The important issue is that the United States is on the right-ish political path. (As long as superstar politicians don't do anything foolish).
What makes me think that the enviro-ship can be righted?
The state of Iowa has resoundingly said that their top priority for 2007 is renewable energy. Since Iowa is an important primary stop for 2008 this makes renewable energy a top priority for the people running to be the next President of the United States.
And in the revolving door of American politics it is the people running for office that matter most.
As always:
